Prudential Partners with HKBUCM for the First Time to Launch Digital Chinese Medicine Health Management Services to Promote Holistic Preventive Treatment Concepts

Users of Pulse by Prudential can enjoy a 10% discount for consultation with a Chinese medicine practitioner and Tian Jiu therapy

(21 July 2020, Hong Kong) Since the launch of its Pulse by Prudential health and wellness app (“Pulse”), Prudential Hong Kong Limited (“Prudential”) has continuously introduced cutting-edge features and user-friendly experience by leveraging digital technologies and best-in-class partnerships. As a trusted insurance partner and market leader in health and protection, Prudential is collaborating with Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine (“HKBUCM”), the largest Chinese medicine education and research institute in Hong Kong, to provide digital Chinese medicine health management services to all Pulse users in Hong Kong, empowering them to actively protect their health.

“Prudential is partnering with HKBUCM for the first time to launch one-stop, digital Chinese medicine health management services. This innovative service allows Pulse users to learn about their body constitution conveniently and for free, as well as identifying suitable treatment approaches for disease prevention, promoting the Chinese medicine concept of “pre-disease prevention, prevention of disease transformation and post-disease prevention of relapse”, said Priscilla Ng, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer of Prudential, “Through this collaboration, Pulse is able to combine the expertise of Western and Chinese medicine to further support users in actively managing their personal health needs across the three key phases of their health journey – ‘Prevention’, ‘Postponement’ and ‘Protection’.”

Since the launch of Pulse in Hong Kong in March this year, many users in Hong Kong have completed the in-app artificial intelligence-powered “Healthcheck” for insights into their well-being from a Western medicine perspective. On the other hand, traditional Chinese medicine and its wellness preservation concept continue to garner recognition for its efficacy and gain public attention in recent years. The awareness of the importance of regulating body functions, enhancing physical fitness, as well as adopting preventive treatments to reduce the risk of an onset of a disease and deterioration of health conditions is on the rise.

In view of this, Pulse is introducing digital Chinese medicine health management services in partnership with HKBUCM. Users can assess their body constitution from a Chinese medicine perspective, obtain personalised health management solutions, make appointments with Chinese medicine practitioners and consult with them online*. In addition, Pulse users can enjoy a 10% discount for consultation with a Chinese medicine practitioner and Tian Jiu therapy at HKBUCM.
