An insurance career gave me a head start

After university, Queenie, like many other graduates, was about to start the first chapter of her career development. By chance, she attended a recruitment seminar held by Prudential. "Having listened to the detailed explanations by the professional consultants from Prudential, I came to understand that an insurance career is full of dynamics and challenges, as well as being a great opportunity for career development and promotion. I was like I had found a guiding light for my future." Without hesitation, Queenie made her choice and joined the family of Prudential to start her career as a bancassurance consultant.

A career of success

Looking back, Queenie says the various training programmes and the supportive guidance from senior colleagues helped her fit into the new environment very quickly. Such support gave her a shot in the arm in getting started with her career. Still, at the beginning, she did find challenges to overcome. "I guess I was too young at the time and did not have a good grasp of people skills. I had some problems in winning the trust of customers and was once very down about this." Then, Queenie doubted if she was suitable for a bancassurance career.

Moving forward with strong determination and a positive attitude, Queenie has overcome many challenges by upgrading her knowledge and skill set continuously. "I have strong initiative to meet different customers to improve my sales skills. I never stop learning and exploring more about the insurance market and products to enrich my knowledge base."

Years have passed, and her passion for an insurance career has proved fruitful. Today, she has a group of loyal customers. On top of this, she finds her personal growth and returns far higher than her expectations.

Queenie's hard work paid off with lots of achievements. Her outstanding results won her performance awards one after another. In 2005, she was nominated to take part in the 37th Distinguished Salesperson Award Programme (DSA) co-organized by the Hong Kong Management Association and the Sales and Marketing Executives Club of Hong Kong. She won and her career was taken to the next level. Queenie was also invited to the bancassurance overseas conference. She goes on laying new milestones in her career, as well as a life of success.
