(Hong Kong, 11 September 2008) The Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd. ("Prudential") mobilized nearly 200 volunteers this week in visits to eight Helping Hand Care Homes to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with over 700 residents.
The PRUvolunteers, consisting of Prudential staff and advisors, shared the festive joy with the elderly with drama performances, lantern riddle games, gifts and other activities during the visits. Handmade Chinese knots with well wishing notes were also prepared by the volunteers as an additional present for the elderly. All the residents enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon in the company of the PRUvolunteers, who all look forward to supporting and caring for the elderly and the less privileged citizens in the community.
Joining one of the visits, Mr. Jeff Walker, Prudential's Chief Executive Officer, said, "Prudential is committed to contributing to the communities in which we operate. Our PRUvolunteers programme is part of our long-term efforts to encourage staff and advisors alike to take part in community focused activities and contribute to people in need. Through its PRUvolunteers, Prudential will continue to support the elderly and the less privileged citizens, as well as other worthwhile community projects in the future."
