Prudential Hong Kong’s expansion of the scope of beneficiary relationships for life insurance policies to cover more diverse family relationships in modern times.

In respecting our differences, Prudential Hong Kong is now embracing a more inclusive definition of diverse modern family types as beneficiaries for all our life insurance policies to help you get the most out of life. Modern families exist in many forms, such as grandparent-grandchild(ren) families, single-parent families, stepfamilies and same-sex married couples. To embrace a more inclusive definition of diverse modern family types, Prudential Hong Kong has expanded our beneficiary list for all our life insurance policies that covers a wide variety of relationships to protect the ones whom our customers care for.
Customers who take out a life insurance policy with us can choose their beneficiary(ies) from the list below at the policy application stage, as we provide them with more convenience and peace of mind through the broader range of relationships covered. The scope expansion of beneficiary relationships is our new step towards embracing inclusiveness and diversity in support of the variety of modern families today.

No. In the case of life assured being a different individual of the policyholder, the life assured must be at least 18 years old in order to nominate a beneficiary.
Yes, after a life insurance policy has been issued, the policyholder can nominate another person as a beneficiary, unless the existing policy beneficiary has been designated as an irrevocable beneficiary i.e. one that cannot be changed without agreement of the beneficiary.
The policyholder needs to fill the respective declaration form provided by Prudential Hong Kong Limited:

* The Life Proposed and his/her cohabiting partner are both at least 18 years of age and are in a committed domestic partnership residing in the same residence for a continuous period of at least 6 months. The Life Proposed and his/her cohabiting partner were and still are each other's sole domestic partner and each of them was and still is not married.
