By successfully processing its first claim for histotripsy treatment for liver cancer, Prudential has transformed this cutting-edge advancement into a tangible benefit for customers. This milestone highlights Prudential's dedication to supporting top-tier treatment options that meaningfully enhance quality of life.  

In addition, the Medical Expenses Direct Billing Service is also available at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, which will handle the request on behalf of customers, greatly simplifying the process, providing further peace of mind to customers, and ensuring a smoother treatment journey.

According to the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, liver cancer was the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer deaths in 20223. The situation is more critical in the Chinese Mainland, where it ranked as the second leading cause of cancer mortality4. Additionally, Prudential's Individual Life Claims Report 2024 reveals that one in every five dollars spent on digestive system-related cancers is attributed to liver cancer.  Claims for liver cancer also surged by roughly 37% from 2022 to 2024, underscoring an urgent need for effective treatment options.

Histotripsy, a breakthrough non-invasive ultrasound treatment, employs precisely targeted soundwaves to produce microscopic bubbles within tumours. As these bubbles collapse, they effectively disintegrate cancer cells—with no surgery, needles, or radiation necessary. This allows patients to be discharged the same day and quickly return to their daily routines within days with similar efficacy as traditional treatment.
