Volunteer Month – A Culture of Giving Back
In partnership with Time Auction, Prudential celebrates Volunteer Month every year, a company-wide initiative that encourages colleagues and financial consultants to dedicate time and skills to meaningful causes. From community clean-ups and animal care to educational workshops and physical training with beneficiaries, Volunteer Month reflects our deep-rooted culture of giving back.
In 2025, over 800 volunteers contributed more than 1500 volunteer hours, partnering with 30 social purpose organisations in Hong Kong to make a tangible difference in the lives of underserved communities.
This commitment is reinforced through our global PRUVolunteer programme, which empowers employees to contribute their time and expertise to disaster relief efforts and community development projects across Asia, creating positive change beyond the workplace and across geographies.
Climate and Health Resilience Fund – Protecting Nature, Safeguarding Futures
With support from the Prudence Foundation’s Climate and Health Resilience Fund, we collaborated with A Plastic Ocean Foundation and the Hong Kong Red Cross to deliver the Tai O “Living Shoreline” Project, with the ambition to protect Tai O’s vulnerable shoreline and restore its precious marine habitats.
The innovative project used eco-friendly, modular “living shorelines” made from recycled seashells. These structures helped reduce wave energy, restore seabed biodiversity, preserve habitats for marine life, and in turn support the village’s traditional way of life.
In addition to funding the project, our employees visited Tai O to learn about the project, helping make modular wire reefs, engaging with residents to identify and understand the climate challenges they face, and distributing disaster preparedness kits.
Prudential Green Team – Driving Sustainability from Within
To champion environmental stewardship across Prudential, the Green Team, an employee‑led initiative launched in 2025, drives year‑round efforts such as waste‑reduction and recycling programmes, energy‑efficiency promotion, and eco‑awareness campaigns, empowering colleagues to adopt sustainable practices every day. Through these efforts, we aim to foster a culture of green living among our employees.
