  1. When this plan is a supplementary plan, it means you must attach it to a basic plan when you are enrolling in it.
  2. It means age 75 (age next birthday (ANB)) as shown in the product brochure.
  3. The PRUmed major (classic) benefit and the PRUmed network care benefit are subject to an overall benefit limit per illness/injury/hospital stay. The lifetime limit under PRUmed major will take effect from the policy anniversary immediately after the life insured reaches age 74 (75 ANB).
  4. On each policy anniversary of the basic plan to which this plan is attached, if you have not claimed under this plan for the last 36 consecutive months, we will offer you a no claim bonus of 15% of this plan’s previous policy year’s premiums. We will put this bonus into your premium deposit account so you can settle the plan’s future premium payment with it if you wish.

  1. When this plan is a supplementary plan, it means you must attach it to a basic plan when you are enrolling in it
  2. Except for psychiatric treatments which are covered in Hong Kong only.
  3. The PRUHealth network care benefit and the PRUHealth non-network care benefit are each subject to specific benefit limits per disability per policy year, as well as the PRUHealth Major limit per disability per policy year. The total benefit amounts we pay under the PRUHealth network care benefit and the PRUHealth non-network care benefit shall not exceed the benefit limit of PRUHealth Major.
  4. On each policy anniversary, if you have not claimed under your plan for the last 36 consecutive months, we will offer you a no claim discount of 15% of the plan’s total premiums for the year immediately preceding the relevant policy anniversary. You can only use your no claim discount to cover the future premiums of your plan.

  2. PRUHealth Major is subject to the PRUHealth Major limit per disability per policy year.

  1. Full cover means no itemised benefit sub-limit, and the benefit we pay will be subject to the overall annual limit, overall lifetime limit and deductible (if applicable).
  2. Greater China covers mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan only. For Plan 1, only designated illnesses are covered in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
  3. HealthCare+ and the dedicated value-added services do not form part of the plan. Please refer to here for more details of the dedicated value-added services.

  1. Full cover means no itemised benefit sub-limit, and the benefit we pay will be subject to the annual benefit limit and lifetime benefit limit.
  2. Except for psychiatric treatments and daily hospital cash for staying below semi-private room in Hong Kong, which are covered in Hong Kong only.

  2. Refers to: (i) 90% coverage of the eligible medical expenses; or (ii) any eligible medical expenses in excess of the actual amount(s) paid by any other medical plan(s); whichever is lower.

If the life assured is diagnosed with cancer after this plan has become effective for at least 30 days on the date of diagnosis, we will waive the premium of this plan for 12 months starting from the next premium due date following the date of diagnosis. We only offer this benefit once during the life assured’s lifetime, whether directly or through a family member’s illness.

Applicable to critical illness protection plans

Ages mentioned throughout this comparison refers to “age next birthday” (ANB).

^Single critical illness cover means that the plan will pay a lump sum if you are diagnosed with a major condition. After this payment, the policy will end. Multiple critical illness cover means that the plan will pay each time you are diagnosed with a major condition, up to a certain total protection amount and subject to the policy terms.


  1. You can always choose to take out this plan as a standalone plan or as a supplementary benefit attached to a basic plan. If it is a supplementary benefit, the premium payment term and benefit term will be the same as the benefit term of the basic plan to which this plan is attached, or until age 81 (ANB), whichever is earlier.
  2. If you have not made any claims under this plan, you may convert your plan to a new whole-life protection plan with a cash value before the life assured reaches age 66 (ANB), without the need to give us any health information.

  1. We will deduct the total benefit amount you claimed and any outstanding loans and interest from the death benefit.

  1. The total protection amount of up to 860% of the sum assured is the sum of protection we offer under the Early Stage Major Disease Benefit, Intensive Care Benefit, Major Disease Benefit, Extended Major Disease Benefit and Cancer Treatment Extra Benefit, subject to the relevant terms, conditions and benefit limits. Please refer to the product brochure for details.
  2. We will deduct the total benefit amount you claimed and any outstanding loans and interest from the death benefit.

  1. The 5-year premium payment term is not applicable to the PRUHealth Baby Guardian Critical Illness Plan.
  2. The total protection amount of up to 1000% of the sum assured is the sum of protection we offer under the Early Stage Major Disease Benefit, Juvenile Disease Benefit, Intensive Care Benefit, Major Disease Benefit and Extended Major Disease Benefit, subject to the relevant terms, conditions and benefit limits. Please refer to the product brochure for details.
  3. (i) We will deduct the total benefit amount you claimed and any outstanding loans and interest from the death benefit. (ii) The death benefit will be restored even after a major disease claim, subject to the waiting period. Please refer to the Renewed Life Protection Benefit in the product brochure for details. (iii) Under the PRUHealth Baby Guardian Critical Illness Plan, for death within 180 days after birth, the benefit payable will be reduced to 20% of the benefit amount.
  4. We base our statement about the benefits of our plan being “new-to-market” on our understanding and interpretation of current market information, by comparing with other publicly available critical illness plans providing lump sum benefits issued by major Hong Kong life insurance companies for individual customers as at 21 April 2023.
