Frequently Asked Questions

Prudential Entrust Multi-Currency Insurance Plan is an all-in-one multi-currency savings and whole life insurance plan that puts you in control of your financial planning. Grow your wealth with potential high returns, change the policy currency flexibly and access your accumulated wealth easily. You can even create an income stream through our [New-to-market1] FlexIncome Option, supporting you and your family through your changing needs.

Enriched with comprehensive and adaptable legacy planning tools, including the policy split, the [Most comprehensive solution3] Interim Owner Option and the [New-to-market2] enhanced FlexLegacy Death Benefit Settlement Option, the plan gives you full control to distribute and pass on your wealth as you choose seamlessly, ensuring your support lasts well into the future.

Prudential Entrust Multi-Currency Insurance Plan can support different life planning needs, including children’s overseas development, marriage, home purchase, retirement, family cashflow and legacy planning. Through the FlexIncome Option, multi-currency choices and legacy planning features, it helps you plan flexibly for long-term financial needs.

At enrolment, you can choose  United States Dollars (USD), Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), Renminbi (RMB), Australian Dollars (AUD), Canadian Dollars (CAD) or British Pounds Sterling (GBP) as your policy currency. Starting from the 3rd policy anniversary, you can apply to exercise the Currency Change Option to switch your policy currency flexibly, catering for your children's overseas education, relocation or other future plans.

The plan offers the [New-to-market1] FlexIncome Option. From the 5th policy anniversary, you can exercise the FlexIncome Option to set up automatic annual or monthly withdrawals from the policy value, paid directly to your named recipient, such as your spouse, children, parents, grandchildren or a charity. You can choose fixed or increasing payments, with the increasing instalment rate ranging from 1% to 10% p.a., to support needs such as living expenses, university tuition, special education needs (SEN), elderly home care or other family financial needs. You can also change the instruction or recipient as many times as you wish, subject to the plan’s requirements.

You can choose to exercise this option via withdrawing from the policy value by keeping the same notional amount or reducing the notional amount (a “partial surrender”). Either will reduce the future value of your policy.

Yes. Prudential Entrust Multi-Currency Insurance Plan lets you access your accumulated wealth easily, supporting your changing needs across life stages. You may first consider encashing any accumulated Reversionary Bonus to meet your immediate financial needs; if you need a larger lump sum, you may take the amount from the non-guaranteed cash value of any Terminal Bonus and the guaranteed cash value of the policy by reducing the notional amount (a “partial surrender”), without fully surrendering the plan. In addition, starting from the 10ᵗʰ policy anniversary, if you have locked in your Terminal Bonus to the Terminal Bonus Lock-in Account, you can also withdraw the money from the Terminal Bonus Lock-in Account anytime you need it.

Please note that if you withdraw the cash value of the Reversionary Bonus from the policy, its face value, cash value and any benefits payable will be reduced. In addition, if the notional amount reduces, the subsequent guaranteed cash value, non-guaranteed bonuses (if any) and your total premiums paid used for calculating the benefits will also be reduced. Therefore, any cash value you withdraw will reduce the Death Benefit, Extended Accidental Death Cover, Payor Accidental Death Cover and surrender value payable.

The plan provides a suite of legacy planning tools. In addition to the legacy planning arrangements commonly available in the market — such as splitting your policy through the Wealth-Split Option, unlimited changes of the life assured, and setting up a contingent life assured and succeeding owner — we further offer the [Most comprehensive solution3] Interim Owner Option and the [New-to-market2] FlexLegacy Death Benefit Settlement Option, making your legacy planning more comprehensive and flexible. If the policyholder passes away or becomes incapacitated, the interim owner's function is to temporarily manage the policy for the minor succeeding owner or designated owner, and to complete the succession at a specified date, specified age or upon a designated life event. When you choose to settle the Death Benefit through FlexLegacy, we will pay your sole beneficiary the Death Benefit when the life assured passes away and/or when the sole beneficiary experiences any of the specified life events. You can customise the settlement option in monthly instalments, lump sum(s) or a mix of the two.

The plan offers the Terminal Bonus Lock-in Option and Terminal Bonus Unlock Option, allowing you to retain control of your gains as your financial needs change over time.

  • Starting from the 10th policy anniversary, you can lock in part of the non-guaranteed cash value of your Terminal Bonus to a Terminal Bonus Lock-in Account, protecting it from market uncertainty. Your money earns interest at a rate Prudential determines from time to time, and you can also withdraw the money from the Terminal Bonus Lock-in Account anytime you need it.
  • Starting from 1 year after the bonus lock-in, you can unlock all or part of the latest value of your Terminal Bonus Lock-in Account as a non-guaranteed cash value of the Terminal Bonus, so you can take advantage of potential growth opportunities.
  • You can choose to exercise either option once per policy year. After that, Prudential will adjust your Terminal Bonus for that policy year and all subsequent policy years.

The plan offers 3-year or 5-year premium terms, with a whole life benefit term. The issue age is from age 1 to 80*, based on age next birthday, and the life assured must be at least 15 days old when the proposal document is signed. You do not need to provide any medical information or undergo medical checks to take out the plan, unless your total annualised premium is more than the amount set out in Prudential’s administrative rules.

*If the life assured is aged 75 (76 ANB) or above when the proposal document is signed, you must appoint a contingent life assured aged 74 (75 ANB) or below under the policy. You cannot cancel this appointment unless the original life assured is changed.

Prudential Entrust Multi-Currency Insurance Plan is a multi-currency savings and whole life insurance plan to address diverse needs. Through the FlexIncome Option, you can set up annual or monthly income payments of fixed or increasing amounts to create an income stream for you or your family, supporting living expenses, university tuition, retirement or other family needs. In addition, through the enhanced FlexLegacy, you can tailor the death benefit payout to be paid directly to your sole designated beneficiary. Payments can also be scheduled at different stages of your beneficiary's life, such as university graduation, marriage or home purchase, or at specified ages, providing a safety net at key milestones, supporting them even in your absence. Furthermore, with flexible policy currency switching, policyowners can change the policy currency within the same plan into United States Dollars (USD), Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), Renminbi (RMB), Australian Dollars (AUD), Canadian Dollars (CAD) or British Pounds Sterling (GBP), helping you cater for overseas education or retirement needs.
