Prudential appoints Michael Han to Lead Hong Kong General Insurance Business

Han will steer Prudential’s Hong Kong’s GI business in achieving the company’s ambitious goals

(2 December 2024, Hong Kong) Prudential Hong Kong Limited (‘Prudential’) today announced the appointment of Michael Han as General Manager of its general insurance arm, Prudential General Insurance Hong Kong Limited (‘PGHK’), succeeding Kelly Mok upon her retirement. Michael also joins the Prudential Hong Kong Executive Committee, reporting to Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Lam. His appointment took effect on 1 November 2024.

In this role, Michael has overall leadership and management responsibility for driving the growth of Prudential’s general insurance business. He will continue to enhance Prudential’s general business portfolio in Hong Kong, including personal lines insurance such as accident, home, travel and furkids; and enterprise solutions such as SME insurance, MPF and employee benefits.

With three decades of experience in the insurance industry, Michael has held senior roles with a variety of insurers, including AIG Hong Kong, Alltrust Insurance, and Ping An Insurance. He has previously been based in key locations such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. Michael’s expertise spans across brokerage and agency channels, risk management, underwriting, servicing and claims management. Prior to joining Prudential, he served as chief executive officer of Concord Insurance.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from the University of Sunderland in the UK.
