Prudential continues to spread love and warmth with “We DO” spirit, supporting the Hong Kong community with “Mandatory Quarantine ∙ Care Subsidy” to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

One-off financial subsidy of HK$2,000 to Hong Kong residents impacted by mandatory quarantine on pandemic prevention expenses

(18 January 2022, Hong Kong) In light of the recent local transmission of COVID-19 variants and the surge of mandatory quarantine cases in Hong Kong, Prudential Hong Kong Limited (‘Prudential’) today announced the launch of the “Mandatory Quarantine ∙ Care Subsidy”.

Through the Pulse by Prudential (‘Pulse’) health and wealth management app, this initiative is set to offer one-off financial subsidy to individuals who are mandated by Centre for Health Protection under the Department of Health of the Government of the HKSAR to undergo mandatory quarantine amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong, with an aim to provide additional support to the Hong Kong community in fighting the epidemic together.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Prudential has actively demonstrated its corporate responsibility by launching an array of relief measures. Following the “COVID-19 Caring Fund” and the “COVID-19 Vaccine Full Care Fund” launched earlier, this “Mandatory Quarantine ∙ Care Subsidy”, is a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts and commitment to safeguarding the health of Hong Kong residents amid the pandemic.

“Social distancing measures and quarantine requirements have been tightened again to curb the rapid spread of the new coronavirus variants in Hong Kong. We fully understand that mandatory quarantine can cause unexpected disturbances to life,” said Derek Yung, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Hong Kong Limited.

Mr Yung added, “Now is the time to express our sincere care for Hong Kong residents during the pandemic, starting with financial subsidy to assist those affected by mandatory quarantine. With our ‘We Do’ spirit, we are determined to support the Hong Kong community in halting local transmission together.”
