Prudential Announces Winners of "Ten Times Tax Refund Lucky Draw" Join Hands with Customers to Help Revitalize Local Economy

(Hong Kong, 3 October, 2003) The Prudential Assurance Company Limited ("Prudential") today announced the successful run of its "Ten Times Tax Refund Lucky Draw" promotion launched in July 2003. The promotion is an initiative to echo the Inland Revenue Department's earlier partial tax refund campaign to stimulate local spending and help revitalize Hong Kong's sagging economy. Mr. Chiu Kwok-kuen, the "10 Times Tax Refund Grand Draw" winner, was drawn from a pool of individual basic life insurance policies issued during the promotion period and was awarded with cash coupons worth HK$10,000 at the prize presentation ceremony held earlier.

In addition, Prudential concluded its "Daily Refund Lucky Draw" with 24 prizewinners who were drawn on each working day from the pool of new life insurance policyowners during the promotion period. They were each awarded with cash coupons vouchers, with a value equivalent to either 10 times' the amount of their salaries tax refund from the Inland Revenue Department, or the amount of the initial premium paid for the relevant policy (whichever is lower).

Mr. Ken Ng, Marketing Director of Prudential, said, "The customer responses to our 'Ten Times Tax Refund Lucky Draw' were encouraging. In-line with our listening credo, this promotional offer is aimed to show our gratitude to our customers' continuing support. We are also glad to join hands with our valued customers to encourage local spending and help revitalize our economy as a responsible corporate citizen."
